DoLucid ("we", "our", "the app") is a sleep and lucid dreaming app for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

DoLucid is designed to keep your data on your device. We collect the following:

• Dream journal entries — title, description, clarity score, dream signs, lucid flag, and date. Stored locally on your device using Hive (an encrypted local database). Never transmitted to any server.
• Sleep schedule preferences — your bedtime and selected REM window. Stored locally.
• Alarm settings — active alarm time, session mode, sound selection. Stored locally.
• Purchase status — whether you have unlocked Lucid Pro or individual sound packs. Stored locally and verified on-device via Apple StoreKit2. We do not operate a purchase server.
• Onboarding flag — whether you have completed the initial onboarding. Stored locally.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information.
• We do not have a backend server or database.
• We do not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, or advertising frameworks.
• We do not track your location, microphone use, or camera.
• We do not share any data with third parties.

3. In-App Purchases

DoLucid offers optional in-app purchases (Lucid Pro, sound packs) processed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit2. We do not receive your payment information. Apple's Privacy Policy governs purchase transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy.

4. Permissions

• Notifications — used to schedule alarm fallback notifications when the app is force-quit. You can deny this permission; the app will still function, but alarm reliability when force-quit may be reduced.
• Background Audio — used to play alarm and telkin audio while the device screen is off.
• Local Network — required by the alarm system (AlarmKit) for coordination between iPhone and Apple Watch. No network traffic is sent to external servers.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on your device using Hive with AES-256 encryption for purchase records. Dream journal entries and preferences are stored in unencrypted Hive boxes on your local device only.

If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device. We have no way to recover it.

6. Children's Privacy

DoLucid does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains no features that require or encourage sharing personal information.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
