The short version: No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Your scripts and videos never leave your device. We collect only anonymous crash reports, basic usage statistics, and the feedback you choose to send us.
1. Data Stored on Your Device
Souffleo Teleprompter ("we", "the app") is a teleprompter and video recording app for iOS. Everything the app works with stays local:
- Scripts — the texts you write, paste, or import (.txt/.md). Stored locally on your device only.
- Prompter settings — scroll speed, font size, mirror mode, colors, and similar preferences. Stored locally.
- Recorded videos — saved to your device's Photos library with your permission. We never receive or transmit them.
- Purchase status — whether you have unlocked Lifetime access. Verified on-device via Apple StoreKit. We do not operate a purchase server.
2. Data We Collect (and Why)
- Crash reports — via Firebase Crashlytics. If the app crashes, an anonymous technical report (device model, OS version, stack trace) helps us fix the bug. Not linked to your identity.
- Usage statistics — via Firebase Analytics. Anonymous, aggregated events (e.g. which screens are used) so we know what to improve. Not linked to your identity, not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Feedback you send — the optional in-app "Request a feature" form stores only the message you type, the app version, and the platform. No name, e-mail, or identifier is attached unless you write it yourself.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- No name, email address, account, or any identifying information.
- Your scripts and videos are never uploaded — they stay on your device.
- No advertising frameworks, no cross-app tracking (no IDFA).
- No location tracking.
3. Camera & Microphone
The app uses your camera and microphone solely to record your videos, on your explicit action. Footage is processed on the device and saved to your Photos library. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
4. Speech Recognition (Captions & Voice Tracking)
Optional features — automatic captions and voice-controlled scrolling — use Apple's on-device speech recognition (SFSpeechRecognizer with on-device recognition). Your voice is processed locally and is not sent to us or to any third party by the app. These features only run while you use them and require your permission.
5. Purchases
The Lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Purchases can be restored on any device signed into the same Apple Account.
6. Children's Privacy
Souffleo does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
